Database is a collection of a data, which is stored in a systematic manner, i.e. in the form of tables so that we you can retrieve and manipulate information quickly and effeciently from a large set of data. A database consists of one or more tables. A table contains information in the form rows and coloumns. Rows are called as Records. Columns are called as Fields.
The Database Management System (DBMS) is a computerised record keeping system that enables us to create, store, modify and extract information from a database.
